Small Boutique Salaries & Experience?

For my guys who worked at a small boutique / know people who work at a small boutique, what are average base and what are average bonuses? (Non-covid)

Analyst pay? Associate Pay? VP? MD?

I'm very curious what this pay looks like and how many years guys have worked at a small boutique.

I feel like there are two tiers of the "boutiques" that people talk about when not referring to the Evercore and Lazards of the world. Like there is the tier that is just a regionally focused small shop that plays in the very lowest parts of the middle market, and then these high power, typically one or two sector boutiques that compete on deals primarily in the 100mm-1bn space and occasionally go even higher. The non-"EB" boutiques can be really great shops and they don't get a lot of love on this site, imo. My team at an MM competes directly with several.

Very dependent on the boutique I know a 1st year analyst who made almost 200k at a boutique and others who have total comp around 70k. But generally you can tell if it's a good boutique with strong deal flow. Try to avoid strip mall boutiques would be a good rule of thumb
