So i'm in my second job for 4 months and was in my first job for 10 months, is it alright to think of leaving already?

One thing to keep in mind is that in almost all the interviews you will have later on people will ask why did you move - and you need to have a good answer, so if you feel you do, then, by all means, go ahead and try to find better opportunities.
Even if you feel that a lot of people might have an issue with your stories if there is no future for you there or in that specific job then you are better off taking the risk, but this is just my tupence

No offense, but it kind of sounds like a first world problem. I think you're shooting for some sort of ideal position which you're never going to find in your entire career. A lot of people would kill to have the PE/VC position which you had as well as the rotation. What's so wrong with them? It's not perfect, but it's pretty good.
In my opinion, you should only leave positions this early if you're being outright abused at the job and have a major asshole for a boss or you get an offer that you absolutely can't refuse. But to leave a job because it isn't absolutely perfect just seems a little ridiculous. Guess what, if you get that buy side gig, I bet they'll put in you a group that isn't perfect either.
If you're learning, you're making decent money, you are progressing and you are treated well by your colleagues/boss, it really doesn't get much better in the work world...just something to think about.

I am a little confused as to what your story is. You interned at a MF, or am I reading that incorrectly? If so, did you get a return offer? Happy to give some advice if you could share more of your background.
Yes, you are correct. I interned at a MF and did not get a return offer as they outright said they won't convert interns and ex-interns were also clamoring to go back. My city didn't have many IBD FT offers and I told some of my contacts that I was interviewing with a HF which they respected and told me i should go for it instead. Didn't get the HF in the end.
I would interview for any of the tippy-top firms you would want to work at, and nothing else. Otherwise, try and stay at your firm until your program is finished. It concerns me that you would want to leave because of one six month rotation...
