Sophomore Equities Intern Questions and Concerns

Hi everyone,

I am a sophomore going to S&T at one of the BBs this summer, and I have been placed with equities S&T. I'm interested to understand how being in equities will play into applying for roles in other areas or firms next year. Specifically, if I'm trying to switch to IBD or maybe apply for buy side internships, will a summer in equity derivs be helpful?

Bio: target ivy, 3.9+ gpa, econ and math major
