Sophomore Pre-Internship/Early Insight Programs

Hi all! I was accepted into several sophomore Pre-Internship/Early Insight/Diversity Programs and was wondering what is the purpose of these programs. Do they serve as a pipeline for summer recruiting, or are they more of information sessions? Would these be useful to put on a resume and if so, how would I go about doing so?

Thanks!

Yes, these are used as a pipeline for diversity candidates for summer recruiting for junior year. And, no, you do not put these on a resume, as it would be like putting an info session, or a first round interview on a resume.

@deshaw1" is partially correct however you do put it on your resume. These programs are super different from an info session. I've had several interviewers tell me it was good to see I've done something with the firm and interviewers from other firms comment they were impressed I was able to touch a lot of other firms so early on. Bottom line it looks good on a resume especially because they are extremely selective programs.

I would just put them under an appropriate heading such as "career/professional development" and have your descriptions accurately reflect that and what you gained from the programs.

The recruiters always seemed impressed- interviewers seemed interested generally. When I was doing these programs it was seeing essentially the same kids over and over again every 2 or 3 months for like 2 years I say that to indicate a lot of the same people do several programs and i think having a couple of them makes you look like a more competitive candidate.
