Starting an equity research firm

Hey guys, I am currently starting a website and I am planning on it being an equity research firm covering mid to small-cap stocks. Think Zacks.com or MarketWatch.com but with more emphasis on really breaking down the financials for the average retail investor.

I have done some research but in my continuing research I thought I'd reach out to the monkeys. I know not too many retail investors care to actually look at future projections rather than maybe just watching a price on a graph go up and down (therefore not pay for it) but I'll have an education section on my website as well for reference.

I'm curious if you guys feel there's a market for such a service if not retail than possibly to institutional investors as a monthly subscription (pricing yet TBD).

Or if it's not created by someone with significant background in equity research than the whole website has no accreditation and it's pointless. I just don't feel that the prestige of ibanking (if i were to start an ibank) applies to ER in quite the same way.

Well considering your thread from 3 months ago said "If I don't secure an internship is it even possible to be offered a FT position for 2020? Does it ever happen? What happens when analysts burn out on their teams?" + you're from a non-target, I'd say focus on getting a full-time job instead.

Congrats, then flex your entrepreneurial spirit to your hearts content.
