Starting FT IBD Virtually -- Live at home or move to the city?
Hi guys,
I am an incoming FT IBD Analyst working in Boston and starting in June. I just got an email from HR saying that analyst training will be virtual starting in late June and that "at this time no relocation is necessary." The email also stated that I will have "many weeks or potentially months to prepare to relocate." I am from the west coast so there would be a pretty major time difference if I lived at home when I started work, but I also want to try and save some money. On the other hand, I have lots of friends in the Boston area and have some roommates that are down to move into a place depending on my decision.
What do you guys think I should do? Move to Boston in the summer and start virtually and see what happens or just live at home and wait until HR emails us about coming back to the office?
Go to Boston. =
I get wanting to save some money but personally I would go. Things are probably going to open up a good amount by mid-summer and the memories will be worth it. You'll be making enough money in ib to justify moving instead of saving a couple of months salary. I think longterm you'll regret it if you don't move in the summer.
Yeah true, good point. Thank you!
