Hi monkeys, what are the pros/cons of starting in a buyside role (point72, de shaw, PE, etc) versus starting in an elite boutique like evercore, pjt? Do you take a pay cut in the first two years if you start in HF/PE as opposed to EB? What about long term compensation and career progression? Do MF PEs still kick you out after you get promoted to associate to do the MBA?
