Starting off in corp dev

To those who are in corporate development, what does your team look like? I have not heard of anyone in corp dev at the beginning of their careers. Without much knowledge on the area, I have listed some potential benefits, and invite anyone to criticise my points or provide some info.

reasons for looking at companies for corp dev analyst positions include: 1. grads flocking to BB before corp dev, so less competitive. 2. skillset is slightly more relevant to PE than what you might get at a BB. In banking, work ends upon the closing of the deal. In PE, this is where work begins. Corp dev is the bridge between the two, you get to see the entire timeline. Also, perhaps corp dev people get moved around into the operations of acquired subsidiaries. 3. good insight into a specific industry 4. would be valuable work experience for eventual M&A gig at an investment bank 5. working closely with a senior banker
