Starting Stern MBA in the Fall - what should I do this summer/fall to secure an internship in IBD next summer?

Hi, I am recently admitted to the Stern MBA program starting fall 2019. I am still at my current job until after July 4th. If anyone has any general advice on what to do in the summer to prepare for the fall interviews, and landing good IBD opportunities, it wouldly high appreciated. Networking is definitely on the to-do list, but if there is more specific how/who/what would be very helpful.

Background: finance/marketing major in undergraduate from non-target school, decent GPA. Working professional in NYC for 6 years now in real estate development, title is VP (but not really equivalent to the IBD VP level). Very different skill set but somewhat finance-related. I am one of those "not-sure-what-I-want-to-do" MBA candidates, but I have always liked the work related with IBD and think a summer internship there would help me figure out more which direction I would go, and would build solid foundation for the future.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help.
