Student looking to go into Financial Engineering or Quantitative Finance??
I am a sophomore majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering on the Financial Systems Track at Rutgers University. I am interested in entering the field of Quantitative Finance or Financial Engineering. I have strong math and statistics skills and am also learning programming and I have always wanted to work in finance. I chose Industrial engineering because I saw that it seemed more rigorous than a finance major and it had a heavy math, statistics and programming curriculum and I would get to take finance classes as well.
How different is Quantitative Finance from Investment Banking? I am not sure which one I should chose as my career path and want to learn more about these fields so I was wondering if there are any books, advice, information out there that can help me decide what I want to do with my career specifically.
Thanks!
