Summer Analyst Dress Code for West Coast Banks

Hi everyone,

Incoming summer analyst for west coast IB (specifically LA), and I pretty much don't have any sort of nice clothing besides an old suit I interviewed in, a few dress shirts, and a few ties.

There is a big sale at Joseph A. Bank this Sunday that at which I was planning on getting most of my clothing for the summer, but I want to make sure I don't end up overspending and overdressing. Realistically, how many pairs of pants, shirts, ties or suits should I be aiming for? Also, are there any good jackets/sweaters/cardigans that I should get that most people wear? I am just generally unfamiliar with the dress code.

Given the more relaxed nature of business attire on the West Coast, I was wondering if someone could help me compile a good list of clothes that I need and will last me the summer. Most of the threads on this topic pertain to NYC, and the ones on LA/SF are a bit outdated so I wanted to start this thread for some up-to-date information.

Thanks!
