Tech IB exits to Special Sits / Distressed / Private Credit

Currently a 1st year analyst at a mid BB tech coverage group. Not particularly interested in traditional PE or growth equity but have developed a fair amount of interest in special situations and distressed private investing. Understand that these funds tend to invest in non-tech sectors.

Is this a possible move given my current background? What are some resources I could use to prepare myself for special sits recruiting?
