Tech IB - SF/Bay Area vs NYC

Hi all - Interested in doing tech IB and would appreciate any thoughts on the difference between doing it in the West Coast vs NYC. Obviously NYC is great as a city but I can't just ignore that literally all the prominent tech companies are HQd in the West Coast.

Even for EVR most seniors are in Menlo as well as the relatively more interesting verticals. Know that Synopsys/Ansys, Qualcomm deals, and Grubhub/JustEat deals were executed from Menlo

bump, ignore title - am currently analyst at EVR/MS/CVP Menlo with opportunity to lateral to GS TMT NYC. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts / considerations to think of. Have gone to school in NY so being drawn to it purely given NYC vs Menlo

West coast for reason no one mentioned - QOL just overall better. Most groups have chiller culture in SF / Menlo office vs NYC. Same hours but less FaceTime, more casual dress code etc which makes it way more manageable. People are less hardo / more relaxed overall but still sharp

lol West Coast groups are sweatier, especially the top groups with their dealflow
