What is your situation?

If you are graduating in spring 2024 you'll need to extend to December 2024. They may not realize this before the SA but you can't just go fool around for a year after the SA. It's totally normal/allowable to graduate in December and start in the summer though.

Or if you are behind on credits and may not graduate by spring 2025... that will be a rescinded offer if you're not going to graduate on time. You have plenty of time to fix it, take some extra January or May classes, or even online during the semester at other schools - even if your school doesn't offer these shortened terms a lot of times you can transfer the credits in to cover your gen eds.

It's just a rule with these firms. Tons of people do an extra semester to align with it - if your school has online classes and you can take like 2 easy ones while traveling, more power to you. But the job descriptions clearly state rising juniors and even specify a range of allowable dates - if they start making exceptions they will have a bunch of already graduated seniors doing internships
