To those Working in Financial Modelling, what exactly do you ?

Currently looking for various fields I would prefer to be employed in. One of the fields I have started adoring is Financial Modelling. However, I am yet to have a complete clarity on it. All I know is that one makes models to describe characteristics of a security. I've always loved academia (although I'm not great at it) [For instance, researching through concepts, finding out derivations of formulas, going in depth for certain theories etc. ] So to those who are currently employed in the aforesaid field, I wanted to ask the following questions

What exactly are your routine tasks everyday ?

What qualifications are required to get into this field ?

How much programming experience does one need prior to taking a job ?

Do organisations hire individuals who have no experience in the field but are undergoing CFA, FRM ?

What are career prospects out there ?

Also if you could recommend any other stream which involves researching or analysing as a day to day task, it would be grateful.
