Please give some perspective on the top banks in LA and how they compare relative to NY offices. My understanding is that it would go something like this:

I thought I heard Moelis was doing business out of NY/Conn....am I wrong?
Is the UBS office in LA larger than their headquarters in CT? What makes it so famous?
UBS LA is IBD. It has nothing to do with size. Their trading floor in CT is huge, but that has nothing to do with this.

Makes it irrelevant? Dude, that's just a dumb thing to say. UBS will be fine--sure it'll lose the Moelis/Navid cache, but there are still a ton of MD's who'll create pain by bringing in deals.
CS LA is way stronger due to heavy platform in Lev Fin or "sponsors" and the game guys at CS run all the LV deals out of that office
