Transition from Asia to NYC/Chicago/LA
I'm doing an IBD internship in HK this summer and I really need you guys' help with this.
Basically, I love the States and would love to work here after graduating. I know that my firm (in HK) will probably give me 1-2 months to decide the full-time offer (if I end up with one), which would be before the FT recruitment even begins. What I am afraid of is that what if I just suck during FT recruiting and do not end up with anything. That way i lose the chance for HK and the States.
I guess what I bascially asking is that, how is US full-time recruiting like for candidates for prior IBD internships? I know the FT is supposed to be a lot harder than internship recruiting, but there are also more positions available. It is really a gamble, and I don't really know what to do at this moment.
Please share your recruiting experiences and offer some thoughts.
Appreciated!
Do your best to get a FT offer from HK. That should be your first priority. After that, leverage it to get offers in the States.
