Trillium Partners

Have an internship opportunity at a firm called Trillium Partners, is this firm any good? it focuses on M&A advisory, 30+ years since establishment and £10+billion in transaction value, but seems like over the recent years its deal flow has died out and in the last few years its only had 1-3 deals on year average. recommend to take it or a waste of time and ill just be doing buyer lists all day with meaningless market research or extracting comps.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know about Trillium Trading:

  • Experience at Trillium Trading: A user shared their first-year experience at Trillium Trading in NYC. While the specific details about Trillium Partners are not provided, the insights can be useful for understanding the general environment and expectations at similar firms.

  • Deal Flow and Experience: The importance of deal flow and having cool deals to talk about is emphasized in WSO threads. If Trillium Partners has had only 1-3 deals per year recently, this might limit your exposure to significant transactions and learning opportunities.

  • Professional Growth Opportunities: Firms like Jefferies & Company, Lincoln International, and Financial Technology Partners are highlighted for their high employee satisfaction and professional growth opportunities. Comparing these firms to Trillium Partners might give you a sense of what you could be missing out on.

  • Exit Opportunities: The reputation and deal flow of a firm can significantly impact your exit opportunities to private equity or other high finance roles. If Trillium Partners' deal flow has diminished, it might affect your ability to leverage this experience for future opportunities.

Given the context, it might be worth considering other firms with more robust deal flow and better exit opportunities. However, if Trillium Partners offers a unique learning experience or aligns with your career goals, it could still be a valuable opportunity.

I seen a couple ppl on Linkedin do this in their first summer. are you penultmate year or first year? First-year, instantly take it, even if its unpaid. 2nd year, requires a bit more thought. Ideally you would want a MM bank at the least.

Hi, I’m the writer of the post just on another account as I managed to log back into my main one. I am a first year, have another role with a business broker, onsite and paid. Different deal analysis technique mainly using an adjusted ebitda multiple and no modelling.

Do you think this would be a better choice if I wanted to get into m&a? Heard trillium just makes you do grunt work.

Personally I would take the Business Broker internship. I am first year right now with a IBD summer in '25 internship (top BB) and I am doing an internship in a field completely unrelated to IBD, and I am enjoying it.

I wanted to have some general work experience, relax and get paid. It develops your soft-skills being in a random ass division interacting with different lifestyles and ambitions. You don't necessarily need to have a first-year IBD internship to get a penultimate internship at a BB/EB.

Hi, I’m the same guy that posted I forgot my login for the writer of this post’s account though. I am a first year but deciding on another internship with a business broker, on site and paid. Different deal analysis technique. What would you think would be a more suitable choice to boost CV for summer apps?
