Undergrad: Engineering Major from Semi(?)/Non Target

Hello,

I am currently a first-year industrial engineering major at Ohio State University. I have recently become interested in Finance/IB, but am unsure of my options. I really hope this is the right place to post this.

I've scoured this website for IB chances from OSU Fisher, and the chances look relatively small. OSU offers a Fisher Futures program, but even from that it seems like slim pickings. I've also been told many times (valid or not) that a degree in Business Admin (finance specialization) is useless from a non/semi target. (Not sure what OSU falls under)

I am in-state Michigan, and am interested in applying transfer to UMichigan LSA (Ross's external transfer rate is incredibly low).

The three options I am considering as of now (I'd appreciate if other options are suggested):

  1. Stay at OSU, major in Industrial Eng or CompSci degree, minor in econ/business. Maybe go into consulting and break in through that route.

Pros: Pick up a versatile degree, Keep options open, Can just get MBA from a better school
Cons: While I can code/do math and am decent at it, I'm not nearly as interested in CS/eng as I am in Finance. Low chance of breaking in out of undergrad

  1. Switch to Fisher, try to break into IB.

Pros: I'd be in the Business school, so I'd be able to apply for Fisher Futures. More of a chance to break in out of undergrad from OSU than from college of engineering (duh)
Cons: If I don't break in out of undergrad, then I'd wind up with lower job prospects than if I had done Engineering

  1. Transfer to Michigan LSA (Econ), try to transfer into Ross.

Pros: Ross is Ross, UMich > OSU in most things.
Cons: Screwed(?) if I don't get into Ross, and UMichigan Ross is a 3 year program, so I'd have to do an extra year assuming I transfer into LSA as a sophomore and then apply to Ross for my third year.

I've also been considering double majoring at OSU in Engineering/Finance, but I figured it'll take at least an extra semester, probably an extra year. Ross would take an extra year, but in my head it'd be worth it.

Some info that might change something:
- First semester GPA was a 3.3 (what will be sent on transfer apps for first semester). No excuses, f*cked up a midterm really badly in my Calc course. Retaking that Calc class, so after this semester I'm guessing my GPA will be a 3.7-3.8.
- High school stats, 36 ACT, perfect SAT's and decent EC's I guess. Not sure if these are given any time of day on the transfer app, would appreciate some clarification.
- I'd be paying the same at both schools.

Which option should I take? Thanks.
