Undergrad Target Students: Where do most MBB/Bulge Bracket cross-offers end up choosing?

Hey guys,

Just trying to get some data points for the consulting vs IBD debate many kids have. There are a lot of arguments throughout the site for either side, but I just wanted to understand the point of view of people who faced a similar choice or witnessed the people around them making those choices. Without making this a pissing match.

So have most cross-offers taken MBB or a top IBD role? For those of you that took MBB, did you find the substantial decrease in compensation to be something that troubled them later on? Anecdotally, do consultants seem happier (have more social life, relationships, etc) than their banker counterparts? Or even unhappier and broken down from all the travel?

I'd like your take! It'll be helpful to me and many other students facing these choices.
