Union Square Advisors

I saw that Union Square Advisors advised Carlyle on the $1.2b Exiger deal. I haven’t seen much about them on WSO, especially for a firm that works on deals of this size.

Can anyone provide insights into their reputation and deals they work on?

Don't know much but here is what I know. They only do M&A both Buy and Sell-side as well as capital markets and also surprisingly will use the firm’s own capital alongside private investors, kind of like a merchant bank would. Also have offices of both sides of the US, San Fran and NYC. Not sure about market sentiment about how reputable they are but I would say they are clearly a solid firm looking at past transactions with deals like Oaktree, IBM, Carlyle, Permira being involved.

Also I'll say this often industry specific boutique firms don't get a lot of rep from WSO, saw a post about a week ago about Whitehall & Company and they also had a few deals over 1b+ with clients like GE and other big PE names too and players in their space
