Unique situation, want to get into IBD

I'm older than 30 and 4 yrs Post undergrad. I went to college when I was 22 worked full time during so it took me 5 yes. My undergrad gpa is trashed beyond repair. The only experience I have in financial services is slinging mutual funds and life insurance. Would a msf help me rebrand and get in (I don't mind starting as an intern or analyst) or am I screwed until I get a good MBA (all the schools around me have good relationships with employers).
