Using dinner allowance to buy lunch for tomorrow?
Is there any way the employer could see if you use part of your dinner allowance to buy lunch for the following day (i.e buy two bowls at chipotle instead of one)?
I am assuming if you are under the limit it should not be an issue but wondering if anyone has experience doing so.
This is very normal, lots of people do this myself included. My bank’s policy is just that you have to eat the meal at the office (i.e. no ordering and receiving your food then going home to eat it the second the clock strikes the time we have to stay until) although even that has been blurred by being allowed to order from home during WFH. As long as you’re under the limit it’s totally fine.
Everyone does it. Technically, I do not think you are supposed to though. However, I cannot ever imagine the policy being enforced. Just don't order food and leave before 8pm or whatever the time is and don't consistently order food and take it home right when it arrives. Fwiw, dinner would usually come at 7-8pm and we wouldn't leave till 2am, so not unreasonable that you would need 2 bowls.
how can you cover 2 meals with $25?
As an example, ordering two meals from Chipotle would probably cost ~$20
