Virtual Internship - should interns still be in the city of their bank?

So if my internship is now virtual -- is there any reason to do it in NYC? Do you think bank will still have any sort of appropriately-distanced social events? Or will most interns just do the internship from the parents' homes?

Definitely no, NYC is a terrible place to be locked down - tiny shared apartment, packed streets... most analysts/associates left if their families were within driving distance.

Ha. Totally get it, I just thought that maybe some places/FT people might organize some sort of social outing at some point in July -- maybe be an opp. to get to know them. But I guess they probably wouldn't do t his, as most interns wouldn't be there. And they probably don't want to be anywhere near us anyway.

If you are located on the West Coast/Mid West, and are interning with an NYC bank, I would at least look into getting a cheap apartment with good wifi maybe somewhere in an east coast suburb.. can find something cheap in Westchester / Connecticut / New Jersey for a few weeks. I am in Westchester and things aren't too bad here.. would be better than dealing with a 3 hour time hour difference.
