Wearing Signet rings as Intern!
Hi,
can I wear my signet rings for my Internship at an BB (Europe).
I have been wearing for more then 10 years and it reminds me of my family, our values etc.
But I wanted to know if wearing a signet rings woud sent the wrong signals (and what they are)?

If its important to you then wear it - don't compromise just because you think other people may misinterpret it

Signet rings are not worn in Europe. They're generally an American thing and Europeans think they're more of a douchey American thing that Americans use to make themselves seem aristocratic, like putting III or IV at the end of one's name or inserting their middle initial in their name.
Obviously in Europe where people actually are titled etc then these rings are not worn. However, if you want to wear it, wear it. Won't make a difference at all. Nobody will care.

This is retarded. I live in Europe, and know loads of people with signet rings. Also, they're definitely more of a British upper class thing than American..
If you were in America and you were at all close with the other summer analysts, they would bust your balls about it. Most of the full-time employees would think it's weird but only a few would bring it up. (But wouldn't be rude.)
No idea about Europe. Based on the fact that I've seen European men get away with eyebrow piercings and wearing Burberry scarves (in itself pretty gay in the US) as ascots, I think you'd have to wear assless chaps to raise eyebrows over there.
