West Coast Recruiting Culture
From my experience, I feel like the West Coast is more open to non-targets. If you network well there and A1/A2's like you, then you're very likely to get interviewed. However, for NY office, even if you have some bankers batting for you, there's still a high chance of you not getting an interview. This is for the same bank.
