What are some good IB resume builders?
This is my first post here, was referred from AnalystForum.com.... looks like an informative place!!
I got screwed out of my boutique IB summer internship (long story), so I got a long boring summer ahead of me.
I will be graduating with a BS Finance this December and I'm looking for some things to beef up the resume a bit. I was in the Navy for 5 years before college, so I have a lot of filler, but I'm looking to add more relevant finance/IT crap.
I just finished Bloomberg certification, I'm taking the L1 CFA exam this June, and possibly the L1 CAIA exam in Sept. Over the summer I'll do DealMaven L1/L2, and get Microsoft Specialist certification in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Are there any other certifications or training I can do over the summer? Or any things I can do to talk about later in an interview?
Other than that, I guess I'll have a lot of time on my hands after work, so I'll be hitting up the gym like crazy and going to the beach!! Better do it now while I can! Anyway I'm sure appearances are important in this industry.
Best advice is to try a fortune 500 corp. finance division. It is usually the best relevant experience to leverage yourself into banking.
