thank u bro. rn im just intern for my uni's endowment. I am moving to NYC in 25' want to start in IB. but the arts is rlly my thing I wanna have my own $$$ to fund fashion line ideas and my music. Never want to need another man to make my dreams come true hence i wanna make my own bankroll in finance. I just dont wanna get fired for getting popular. i am actually concerned about popularity bc my stuff is very innovative/

Pursue your music goals now when you are still in school and expand and grow as much as you can. What are you doing on this forum?! Next thing you know, you’ll be in your late 20s/early 30s, and you don’t want to be stuck all day wondering what your purpose is or behind your screen wishing you had spent your time building your dreams instead of refreshing graphs

I don’t think that’s a problem. If anything that makes you more interesting/cooler. For context I’ve done some videos/media exposure for my organization in my country on some social activism. Think HR and my team know, but no one cares.

Interesting take. Thanks for the positivity man. But does anyone in the BBs actually care abt an analyst/associate being cool? I heard on here everyone is PC and can't take a shade of culture to their personalities. I won't mix lingo or energy between finance and artsy spaces. I learned not to let other areas bleed through. I will talk very professional and hold myself quite preppy and upright. Tho I thought my interest outside of finance would be frowned upon in some shops. But yea, I bet I could find a nice place for myself at a few firms
