What questions should I ask on a networking call?
Usually I go through my background, why banking and such, and then ask them a little about their background..following with asking about their group and what they do at their bank perhaps, and then go into asking a little bit about the analyst program structure...then i'll ask maybe about the internship structure and any advice about the interview process..after this i usually run out of stuff to ask if the conversation isn't going off on a tangent on its own by this point and just kind of say thanks for your time and hope to keep in touch...should i be asking much more than this?
Would also like some input. Probably wise to ask some non-standard stuff and would love to hear different people's ideas.
Depends on how the conversation is going. I've started several calls and it gets to something like football, usually based on where they went to school/where you go to school or where you're from etc. Really depends. Sometimes they're so busy, they keep it pretty precise and to the point. In most cases, your template is how mine have gone. Always helps to ask specific questions based upon their individual bank & group.
