What should I Do?

Hi, I need to make a decision and I don’t know what to do

background:

International student from a non-target school in the middle of nowhere in North Carolina.
The reason I went to this school was because I got a scholarship to play NCAA D1.

at my freshman year I figure it out that I wanna be an investment banker, and I did everything to get into IB

My recruiting process was quite successful.

I got 2 superdays with Bank of America

1 super day with Wells Fargo

1 super day with Blackrock

1 superday with Sixth St

upcoming superday with capitalOne

And I received an offer from Wells

Fargo S&T SA 2024.  I was the only one at my whole school (including grad students) to get an offer from an investment bank.

But the dream only lasted for 2 months. One week ago I received an email from Wells telling me that they will not signed my CPT/OPT and I won’t be able to do the internship with them.

So based on that, I decided that I need to transfer to a better school to increase my odds and get another offer and the school is Baruch College in New York.

I would love to go to NYU or Columbia but the tuition for international students is  ridiculously expensive and I can’t afford it.

so for that reason I need your advise,

what should I do?

Stay at my current school and get double major in finance and computer science and try again since I already got an offer and many super days at my current school

or move to Baruch and just get a finance major without the STEM OPT. But with the opportunity to be in New York and take full advantage form groups like SEO and stuff like that since I am a Latino.

My family prefer Baruch

But all the bankers I’ve been spoken to say that a transfer to baruch doesn’t make sense since is not a target school either and I understand their point but is the best I can afford right now and many people in the street comes from Baruch.

So, What should I do?

I am from a communist country in Latin America and the last thing I wanna do is come back. America is everything for me and I will do everything to stay here.

You absolutely cannot give up stem opt as an international student if you want to maximise your chance to stay here long term. H1B lotteries are harder and harder to win and you’ll only be a college grad.

Bro, I am in a similar situation. International student at a non target, went there to be a NCAA d1 athlete as well. You have had more success than me at getting super days it seams like, would love to talk. I have also considered transferring, but decided not to.

Why did they give you a summer analyst offer, but then refuse to sign your international student related paperwork for the job?
