What would be the GPA cutoff for a Math/Bio dual-major from an Ivy for top firms (healthcare banking)?
I don't mean to turn this into a "chance me" post, but I am a rising sophomore, considering either a Comp.Bio/Econ or (more likely) Bio/Math dual-major, and my GPA is really not remotely close to my peers in Wharton. I am doing a Big Four internship freshman summer in Asia as well as volunteer work with the WHO, and likely another international internship for sophomore year. I am also an athlete at my school, but the sport is a winter sport and it isn't as big a commitment as sports like basketball (so I don't know how much this will help explain my situation). I had some troubles emotionally my freshman year. If my GPA is quite low (below 3.5...), would this be acceptable with my major? I will try to apply to diversity programs (I am a girl).
Not sure if it's directly comparable, but I'm a math/cs major at a target school going for tech banking and a 3.5 has gotten me interviews at most major firms. Make up for it with relevant experience/networking and you're totally fine!
Mine is below 3.5! :/ thinking ~3.3 by then possibly...
So if that's the case, you're going to have to network your ass off. I have a buddy that got GS SF with a 3.3 from a target, but it's going to be a bit of an uphill battle. Doable, if you're willing to make up for it
Thank you! I may also be able to push it up considerably if the sophomore spring GPA is considered, since it is an upward curve. Do you think I will have the opportunity to apply post-sophomore spring for at least some firms?
