Where to find good discussions/analysis of deals?
Looking to lateral into investment banking from PE (but think like secondaries, PM, real estate, where experience doesn’t necessary align well with investment banking). I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere I could read on deal analysis / discussion that would help me understand the way people think about these transactions? I feel like what is taught in these M&A courses or 400 questions is never how deals are approached in reality, and would like to be able to understand how experienced bankers speak and think about deals

Yea this is a good idea. Additionally could look at call transcripts post acquisition or at the next earnings
These will be biased. Mergers can be bad, and usually to get that opinion you’d have to look at equity research or just be in the know
Agree with above on the equity research point. Check reports posted after announcement/closing of deals to see what the analysts say.
Yea agree looking at equity research is a good way to be in the know. I subscribed to a telegram group where they summarize and share research reports everyday. Might be helpful for you too. lemme know if you want more info.
any insight on how to join a group like that
I use Equitify, they give 30 reports from a few investment banks daily. More than what I can read...
