Which banks have industry groups that do a large portion of the modeling on deals?
Hi folks,
I remember in one of the WSO videos in the video library, it was mentioned that certain banks have industry groups where all or most of the modeling is done by the product groups that would be working on a specific deal (M&A, LevFin, etc.), leaving more of the “soft” skills of industry research to the industry bankers. This is in contrast to others that have industry group bankers doing a large portion, or even a majority of the modeling on most deals, while also providing industry-specific expertise.
In this video, I think the host said GS was one of the latter, but I was wondering what some other banks that operate like this would be? - BB, EB, MM, etc.
Or, let me know if I’m completely off and this isn’t how any of the groups actually divide up the work.
Thanks!
GS & Barclays are the only BBs without M&A groups
