Which offer should I choose (PWC risk assurance intern vs unpaid Investment intern)
Hi guys I would like to ask a question. I have received two internship offers - PWC risk assurance (transformation) and an unpaid internship at a small investment firm. My long term career goal is to enter into any wealth management / asset management / corporate banking. The PWC one is like a consulting role. PWC has bigger brand name but the investment firm offers more transferrable skills.
However, the unpaid investment firm is very small (around 10 people). The firm is also a bit unprofessional as its job posting stated relatively competitive salary but they told me it's an unpaid role when they send me the offer email.
Which one should I choose? Thank you!
Did the unpaid internship say there was a chance for an FT offer? A general rule of thumb is that paid internships are better than unpaid ones.
no full-time conversion opportunities. However, I just want to gain some experience from this internship opportunity.
I would go with PwC then. An unpaid internship with no thought of full-time will probably be a half-assed program with no real learning.

The unpaid honestly doesn't seem like it would yield any super helpful experience given how they approached the posting and how informal that firm sounds from your description.
If you have an offer, I would recommend seeing if you can defer it.
