For your why banking story, does it make sense to focus on one specific thing? For example, does it make sense to say you're really interested in the m&a aspect of banking because of this reason and that reason? Investment banks obviously do a lot more than just m&a so I am wondering if this is a bad reason

That's fine, but be prepared for the interviewer to tell you that banking is more. That is when you say you really like the deal aspect of banking and having exposure to various avenues of capital and how companies are thinking about their strategic plan all fits into the context of m&a, so of course it makes sense to gain experience across a broad spectrum of deal types and structures.

I am looking to intern in Investment Banking / Corp Finance. I have interned in consulting and have a significant role within the Consulting Society at University.
How would you recommend I answer "Why Banking?" in my cover letter with this experience?
