Why do banking in New York?

Hi everyone,

Going to go through a number of processes for NYC in the next little. I am not originally from NYC so I know I'm going to get grilled on why I want to do banking there. I'd love to hear your thoughts on some good answers that I can have prepared.

Thanks

I think you should be able to answer this by yourself. Its like asking "why do you want to do IB" there isn't a cookie cutter answer you need to have your own.

Just because you don't have a good "why NYC" no one is going to ding you nor is anyone going to hire you for having an amazing "why NYC."

Everyone knows if you want to do finance (not Oil & Gas in which case that would be houston) NYC is the place to be. Its just those check in the box type of question imo.
