Why does UBS Houston have such a bad rep?

In starting the networking process and looking into Houston banks more, I have had a lot of people steer me away from UBS Houston. Was curious if people could offer more insight as to UBS Houston?

Can't speak specifically to UBS Houston, but as a whole UBS lost a lot of allure the past decade for a number of reasons. Largely, the head of their Investment Bank (Ken Moelis), left the bank and started his own firm (Moelis), and took many of their top bankers. Since then (and due to the financial crisis) UBS has largely scaled back its IB practice (resulting in the departure of many other of their top bankers to other firms) and focused on its Wealth Management practice. Others can chime in, but thats probably why people have steered you away. Don't get too caught up in it though, it's still ~top 10 in league tables and a great place to start you career.
