No lol it's called i) extreme overhiring in 2021 when the market was ripping, leading to huge headcount that had no work to do and ii) depressed deal volumes due to interest rates and markets

This forum is so short-sighted it's crazy. In 2021 all of the threads were "is there ANY reason at all to exit to PE given you make so much more in IB?". IB is a very cyclical industry. One or two rough years is just part of the ride.
