Working at a bank during college?

Hi, I have an opportunity to be employed at a BoA as a teller part time starting fall semester (undergrad).

Would this be a good idea? I'm a bit confused because although it'd probably pay better and it's way more relevant to my career interests than flipping burgers and whatever else, I don't want to "limit" myself. If I work as a teller for my next 3 years of school, when it comes time to look into IBD, consulting, etc, will I have options? I read on Glassdoor that it can be tough to exit the teller role once you've done it for a while, which is why I ask. Is my situation different because I'm still in undergrad and not a full time teller? Would this look good on my resume?

I did this... instead of burger flipping at WENNIES.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

dont do it. IMO this questions shows how naive you are.

Make sure you actually study what banking / consulting actually is and what the job outlook is like for the next few years.

Sorry, guess this was kind of a dumb question. And no, I'm not trolling.

I just wanted to see if there was anyway that working at a bank (I realize that it's not investment banking) would help me out, as in being around a business/finance atmosphere, as opposed to delivering pizzas or working at a J. Crew or something.

I will forget about it. Thanks guys.

ConnorBank Tellers are in sales? What did I miss?
Woops, sorry, I was looking up other work in the area before/after replying and all I found was sales jobs, so that was pretty fresh in my head.

I'll heed your suggestion bearing. I do need the money to help me pay for school, this isn't really a just for fun deal. I'd look for an internship if I wanted something like that.

Don't do this if you are not needy for money merchant account. Concentrate on your study but if you take this like to get professional experience with your studies that will help you in future, than you should avail this opportunity. Keep in mind one thing that your study will not be effected at any cost.
