Well if you've been an analyst you realize there isnt that much of a difference between a 3rd year analyst and an associate.

When you're working on a pitch late as an analyst the associate is typically there with you until 1am, then 1am - 3am you're on your own.

In summary, your hours will go down, but not by much and you're responsible for a lot more.

Associates tend to work comparable hours as analysts, maybe a little less because like the person above mentioned there may be cases where the analyst is updating or building a model late at night and that's really a one person job. Otherwise a good associate will stay late with the analyst and check the work before it's sent out, pitch in on getting things done, etc.

at the vice president level is where you start to see some flexibility and being able to work from your house, although when something important springs up, they will put in long weeks as well.
