Young Hopeful-seeking experienced advice

need some advice guys

is Undergrad TT (finance/econ) --> CB (my undergrad is not competitive enough for an IB job) ---> strong MBA (top 10) ---> IBD

a good path? (throw in an MS in economics from UT, hopefully while working)

should I further my resume for top 5 MBA program by seeking a masters in econ from UT while working (3-4 yrs)?

I am a senior right now (not experienced), but I think I can give you some advice. I was in a similar situation as you, I go to a very non-target Big 10 School (Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin) and studied Econ and managed to work my ass off (flying myself out and networking liek crazy) to get a IBD job in a decent MM firm.....so as everyone has been saying quit the pussy attitude that just because you go to TT (i'm assuming that's Texas Tech) you won't get a IBD job.

Next, be careful with everything you read on here. There are so many arrogant fckers on here who will discourage you on here, make fun of your school, and cause you to start doubting your abilities to make it to IBD, but in reality these are the type of kids that no one likes and dnt know shit about hard work. I have two older brothers who did BB banking (i got my job without their help fyi), and they kept warning me not to get affected by what these kids are saying when I wasn't getting any interviews.

What year are you? Just keep your GPA up, keep networking, do something like the analyst exchange or wallstreetprep course (not a necessity) and it is very possible.

Yes, that path is viable, but unless you're legitimately at a community college, you've probably got a shot at IBD if you're willing to work for it. However, that's not to say it's easy or even worthwhile - if CB is feasible, and IBD is almost impossible, is it really worth killing yourself so you can (maybe) get to work 120/hrs/wk for marginally more money, when you can get to the same place by going to b-school in 3 years? That's your call.

what is CB?

And like he said. As long as you are not at some CC, you have a shot. I would say top 50-60 in the national rankings have a solid shot. You just need to work harder and obviously show talent that is otherwise not represented in your academic credentials.

Change your screen-name. I would not hire a Wharton kid with a 4.0 if I got even the slightest sense that they would be lazy on the job. I fucking hate lazy people. They suck dick. In this industry, industriousness is the best quality that you can posses. Your drive determines your destiny. Don't screw up your future. Grow a spine, have a measure of confidence, and get the word lazy out of your vocabulary. If you do that, you stand a shot. If you don't, you're fucked.
