Your Advice Will Singlehandedly Change My Life

Dear WSO,

I am currently at a crossroads in my life. I am just finishing up a venture capital internship and I had a wealth management internship weeks prior. I came in to a University as a transfer student and was doing fairly well with grades holding a 3.89 GPA my second quarter, but there were a few events that occurred in my life which proved detriment to my grades the quarter after and my gpa now sits around a 3.4 GPA going into my senior year.

The good news is that I can pull my GPA back up to a 3.7, but I am struggling with the confidence to apply for IB - Full Time knowing that I don't go to a target school, the fact that my gpa suffered, and having no prior IB stints. I am not here to have a pity party, I will fix it and I know I CAN break in, but I constantly vacillate between wealth management and investment banking because I know I am not as academically inclined as the ivy league students I was surrounded with this summer.

I was hired part-time at the wealth management firm while I complete my degree at a top CA university. The wealth management lifestyle is certainly appealing in comparison to IB hours, but I do not want to limit myself. Many of you might state that WSO looks down on PWM, but I need the reassurance or "kick in the *ss" from my fellow WSO'ers on what I should do.

I am very strong with sales and I am great with people - I know IB can be performed by a monkey and I am very familiar with modeling and excel. If you were me, what would you do?

CRE, PWM, or IB?

Thank you in advance, I appreciate you all!
