Any career / life advice would be greatly appreciated.

Been a lurker on here for over 10 years and grateful for everyone here as I’ve gained a tremendous amount.

Looking for some life/career advice. I’m a 30M living in Canada. As a teenager I dedicated my time to learning about value investing. Over the past 5 years I worked as a financial modeling analyst covering public equities, but have found it difficult to break into an investing role. I have had some success going deep into a couple of processes but that was 2-3 years ago. Since then, I’ve unfortunately been recovering from chronic back and neck pain. Recently I’ve had very limited success with recruiting.

Should I continue on my current path and try to break into the buy side in an investing role or should I explore other options? I have the CFA level 2, graduated undergrad in finance. I did not proceed to level 3 as it is a time and health burden for me, but I’m open to changing my mind about it.

Any advice on how I should proceed would be greatly appreciated.
