Can I get a job when I graduate?

I go to a top 10 school and my GPA is shit (3.2). I'm a current junior, and I do not meet the cutoffs for most firms in Investment Banking and this has made me sad/depressed. I feel that I can raise my GPA to a 3.4 upon graduation, but that seems like it's way too late. That being said... do places usually hire during fall semester of senior year, or would I still be able to get a job after I graduate(when I presumably have a higher GPA)?

What options do I have in working in finance? Unlike most people in this forum, I do not aim to be a MD or somebody on the front page of the WSJ. I just want to be earning ~150-200k in my peak (like when I'm 40).

Thanks.

You can absolutely get a job. Network your ass off.

Start networking as much as you can. If you raise your gpa a bit this year that will help. Also, since your goal is to live a good work/life balance and make decent money, you may want to try looking FLDPs. And that's something that, with your pedigree, you could make happen if you reach out to people that you know.

You should probably sack up a bit. Corp finance role at a F500 seems right up your alley, and is so far from out of reach it's absurd.

brutalglideSounds like a lot of complaining and not enough effort in trying to find a good job. With the right work experience/internships/networking, a 3.2 GPA from a top 10 school is not a deal-breaker.
Took the words right out of my mouth. I was 3.0 GPA from top 10 school, managed to get decent job. PM me.
