Career Advice - Middle Office Exit Opps at a BB

If anyone could offer any guidance or let me know if I'm really wrong on my current career assessment please let me know. After hearing some conflicting advice from co-workers and lots of internet research, I have a general plan but would love to hear the truth if I'm delusional or not.

I graduated from a non-target but strong academic school a little under two years ago. I had no strong opportunities out of college, but ended up getting lucky and finding a good middle office position at a BB. This middle office position has very little (but some) direct client exposure, but we work frequently with the IB and CB teams to support them on live deals. I was lucky enough to get promoted to associate just a few days ago, but I find myself getting more anxious to make a move now that I'm promoted. I have been studying to take the CFA L1 exam this year, and want to really strengthen my resume with a few FINRA certifications as well.

Considering the current job market, I was thinking that the best course of action would be to work closer with some of the corporate banking teams. To try to understand their role a little bit better and see if I can add value while still on my current team, and hopefully inch closer towards theirs. Would anyone happen to have any differing approach on trying to move to a front office role

Any feedback is appreciated! :)
