Expert Network (Exit Opps)

Has anyone heard about the exit opps for expert networks? I have been considering joining a top expert network. Have you ever heard of anyone transitioning from an expert network to a buy-side or investment-focused role?

Thanks for the help

Expert network to Investments won't happen, at least not without a few jumps inbetween.

Well which is it? PE/HF =/=PWM internship experience

IF you had a SA gig at a decent shop, and go to an expert network it's likely viewed as a slight head scratcher. People don't exit to FO roles from expert network firms. Likely a good shot at a role in IR but even then lots of top tier IR roles are filled by former FO employees that want normal working hours

If you're talking "slight possibility", sure--many roles give you that. Just don't go planning a direct/smooth jump. For example, I know someone who went from a GLG/AS to a market research role in a specific industry (Ipsos/Nielsen) they covered and then to a research role at a consulting firm. And that's still not the same as being a consultant.

Think about what skills you're learning at the expert network: how to cold call, how to mine data for emails/phone numbers, and perhaps how to ask questions and communicate (which might be the most valuable)... In the process you might acquire some niche knowledge, but it's going to be bits and pieces with no clear framework/application. You also aren't going to be getting much in terms of analytical skills.

From your posts, it seems you have good experience but aren't getting much luck with offers. I would either hold out or go with the BB BO role, where you have the advantage of being closer to people for networking + having a clear finance story setup based on your internships.
