Graduate Visa vs. Skilled Worker Visa
Hi everyone,
I just completed a Summer Internship in a BB in London and received a Full-time offer for January 2025. I'm an Italian student currently on a UK Student Visa, which expires in December 2024. I have two options: I could extend my visa with the Graduate Visa, or I could accept my bank's offer to sponsor me under the Skilled Worker Visa.
Which option would you recommend? I believe the Skilled Worker Visa might be easier and less costly for me, but it would tie me to the firm, meaning I wouldn't have a visa if I were to be fired or decided to leave.
Thanks for your help!
In the long run, Skilled Worker Visa makes you less tied to an employer since it's a part of your path to an ILR (permanent residency) or citizenship. Graduate visa does not count for your residency
Would recommend Skilled Worker as well, Graduate Visa is only for 2y and whilst you’re more flexible during that period it doesn’t count towards ILR/citizenship
