Help! Low GPA, top 10 Liberal Arts College Rising Junior
Hey guys,
I've been browsing the website for a while and only recently decided to start contributing. So I'm currently going to one of the top 10 Liberal Arts Schools in US, and I aspire to work in Finance eventually.
I did reasonably well in high school, but once I got into college, I was screwed over from sports injuries and such, and ended with a GPA of 2.3 until the end of my Sophomore year.
I've been interning at various firms, including a big holdings company in Asia, a Chinese tech start up, and for this summer, a Chinese tech leader.
I really wanna get into finance and explore my career there... if I am able to get some decently good grades during my final 2 years, what do you think are my chances of landing a job at a BB or just any boutiques after graduation? In particular, I want to work in emerging markets.....
Any suggestions or help is appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Most targets won't let you apply on the career center without a 3.50+
^^ That's not true. But it will be very hard.to get anything.
Like squak said, you need a 3.5+ for BBs and elite boutiques. However, if you network enough, and can get a high employee pulling for you then you can get through that screening process. Most MM and boutiques won't care much (just keep it off) and reach out to alumni at those firms.

Thank you so much for the response guys. Shamefully... my current GPA is 2.3 But I couldn't really control it, I had a few concussions, spinal injuries and hip injuries. Also my deans never told me that I'm allowed to drop classes later in the year...
However, I believe that I definitely have the capability to get straight As for the rest of my college career. I'm not doing sports any more.
I've also been networking intensively. I've met with many many alums, they're all very encouraging (although I never told them my GPA) and believe that I have the capability to do well in banking.
If you've been reading this forum you should know that you need to network extensively, especially given your situation.
