How Many Processes Were You Able to Get Into?

As we all know, this year and the previous one have been very unconventional causing recruiting to take place virtually. Some people prefer this while others would rather be in-person for their interviews/coffee chats which leads me to my question: How many processes have you guys been able to get into with what amount of networking? Also, do you prefer this setting or would rather have it be in-person? Would love to see how this differs from previous threads.

Got into about 6 or 7 processes, 5 of which i networked into. Talked to 5-10 people at those firms. Converted my first superday into an offer and happened to be my first choice :) Very non target, non diversity average GPA but networked my ass off at the place i wanted and got a regional boutique internship for this summer.

3.7 non-diverse at one of MIT/Dart/Williams.

Networked everywhere, got first rounds at Blair, Rothschild, Citi, Lazard Boston, Qatalyst, Raine, and just got CS and Bofa lol.

I would say I networked as much as I could at every BB/EB/good MM I could. Ended up getting dinged early at Raine (didn’t prepare a portco fml) Q (didn’t prepare enough tech subsectors). I got super days at Roths (kind of they run recruitment weirdly), Blair, Citi, and Laz. I converted Citi and Roths and signed at Citi, dropped Laz and Blair before I supered/before they could extend an offer.

I networked with 3 people at Moelis, all good convos and no first round. 2 people (analyst and VP) at EVR flagged my resume and no first round, couldn’t get anyone at PWP on the phone lol, ditto for GHL. Gugg I networked a ton but withdrew before firsts were handed out.

Overall pretty solid and I’d say anyone with a 3.6+, semi target, decent social skills, and actually prep technicals will have a 95+% chance of getting at least an OK offer, 20-30% chance of top BB/EB, you just have to network everywhere and have a good story.

With that said, I’m going to for sure renege Citi for PJT (will receive first I hope), CVP/GS/MS. So that is always a very useful tool to have in your back pocket as well

Thanks man, Ben Matan Biryan was my mentor so I’m blessed to say the least, going to start working on my MD skills

Non-target, Non-diversity, 3.4 GPA (listed Major GPA which is 3.8), two IB internships (boutique & LMM), unique startup experience

Networked across the street at almost at every reputable BB/EB with at least 2-3 strong connections each which led to 1st rounds at EVC/Moelis LA/KKR Private Credit/CS/BARC/JPM/BMO/Roth/Nomura/LionTree/DBO etc. Had a total of 19 firms reach out for 1st rounds but had to pull out/turn down some after receiving an offer.

Superday'd at BMO/DBO/JPM/Moe/KKR -> 4/5 offers

How the fuck??? That's some impressive shit man congrats. Also non-target non-diversity but haven't done even close to as good as that this cycle

Go to a complete non-target state school. 3.95 GPA, internships in PC, IB, commercial banking. Stopped recruiting ~1 month ago and had the following:

Audax private credit

7 MMs (4 top)

4 EBs

2 BBs

Since accepting I've had firsts offered at a 2 MMs and BofA. All interviews except Audax were due to networking. Spoke to on average 5 people at each bank? Huge variances though.

Bumming. 3.8 GPA semi target, Semi target, decent resume but no direct finance experience. Strike out on 3 superdays at BB  even though one of them I thought went well and the other two decent. 2 out of 3 does not recruit on campus. Any advice to get through SD?
