IB Recruitment Roadmap

I'm currently a rising soph at a semi-target. The semester is about to start so I wanted to put together a recruitment roadmap of sorts for SA 2025 recruiting. I'd love to get an idea on what y'all did in the Fall and Spring of your sophomore year to best set yourself up for recruitment, or what were some things that you wish you did but weren't able to?

So far, my broad timeline for the Fall is to make a list of firms I plan on applying to, start reaching out to alum at these firms and build on those connections, ramp up technicals and behaviorals prep, get my resume reviewed by multiple people, and apply to diversity programs. I also hope to land something for soph summer by the end of the Fall - I'm currently in the process for a BB soph summer position, and also have my eye on some smaller buyside shops if that doesn't work out.

As for the Spring, I figured it's more of a take it as you go approach? Send in apps for SA 2025 position as and when they start opening up, reach out to previously formed connections, try building on those even further (?), and make sure interview prep is in the best shape.

If I'm missing anything or am not on the right track, please let me know! I'd to love to hear any additional insight that y'all can provide. Thank you - and good luck to everyone else who's gearing up for SA 2025 recruitment!

awooooooooooga, bummer your thread hasn't had a response yet. Sometimes bots are smarter than humans anyways:

I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.

For reference...landed several ib offers and signed at MF PE from non-target for SA 2024.

In the fall, I studied IB technicals (I used 400q pdf and bought the WSO one)...covered more than enough. If you can answer all of them confidently, you're way ahead of the curve.

If you're aiming for EB's study and master merger model, got grilled and embarrassed by Evercore with this one (think gs and some more technical bb's ask as well). I started networking after winter break ended (mid-jan) and continued constantly until end of May, when I landed the PE offer.

Make a networking tracker guide and reach out to alumni, people from same town, anything in common, etc and try to get ~5-10 calls per week
